Welcome to First Class Uni.
Hey you…
How you doin’? Don’t bother answering. You’re doing broke. Let’s change that.
Hi, my name is Dee. I’m the creator of the First Class Uni blog.
Back in 2020, I was working on my first blog (not this one) and searching for a full-ride scholarship to a prestigious university in the UK where I had received an admission offer.
One faithful day of the week that ends with day (I can’t remember what day it was fam, this was years ago), an ad for a lottery site popped up on my page, and because I had nothing to lose, I played the lottery.
I didn’t hit the jackpot, but the thought of winning led me to wonder what I would do with the money, and that opened a wormhole.
Your girl started learning all about personal finance, investing, stock trading, business, all of it. And when I knew the tricks for growing wealth, I couldn’t sit idle.
I needed a job, I liked writing, boom. I became a Content Writer.
I created a few tacky resumes and managed to get a job with a US agency through LinkedIn. There were ups and there were downs, but I’ve been freelancing ever since.
And I’ve made millions from it.
WHY FCU WAS BORN
Let me make this clear.
The goal has NEVER been and will NEVER be to make you drop out.
The goal is to help you make those four years of suffering worth something. Formal education focuses only on one aspect of education–academic excellence. You need more than that.
There have been too many cases of students who killed themselves because they failed a course. They’re not stupid. They just couldn’t bear the pressure.
Unfortunately, the people who stand strong under that pressure (Shoutout to everyone who got through uni. You’re a real G.) find out after graduating that they don’t know enough to do well in the real world.
Every time I have to write a cover letter or prep for an interview/meeting or write emails, I think about uni students who are going to have to face the brutal job world soon while being entirely unprepared.
Who was going to teach them to do all that? Who will teach them how to negotiate for a good salary?
That’s the point of this blog. To teach you everything your university “forgot” to teach you.
I’ll teach you:
- How to survive uni
- How to build work experience while studying
- How to start making money while in school
- How to manage your money wisely
You’ll learn how to prepare yourself for a First Class life while chasing that elusive first class degree.
I know everybody has a different definition of a First Class life, but I truly hope the things you learn here help you build a life you’re comfortable with.
To peace and funds,
Dee
